Justin studied Law and Philosophy at the Universities of Leuven, Maastricht and Amsterdam.

Before he was admitted to the Bar he worked as legal counsel in Amsterdam and New York for a gaming company. He later founded the KPMG European Gaming and Entertainment Services Group. Justin co-founded www.gaminglaw.eu, the European portal on gaming law and regulation.

He is a shareholder/attorney at VMW Taxand where he heads the Gaming, Sports & Entertainment Practice Group. He regularly speaks at international conferences (European Gambling Briefing, European I-Gaming Conference & Expo, IMGL Conference) and writes on the subject matter (Internet Gambling Report, European Gaming Lawyer, Casino Lawyer)

The Gaming, Sports & Entertainment Practice Group is engaged in the majority of multi-year proceedings on cross-border internet gaming before various national and European courts. VMW Taxand counts a range of blue chip remote and land based gaming companies amongst its clients.

Justin is the Dutch General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law and a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys. He received multiple Band 1 rankings in Chambers Global Edition in the category "Gaming and Gambling". He sits on the editorial board of the World Online Gambling Law Report and of Gaming Law Review & Economics. He is a Member of the Board of the Research Program on Gambling Law of the University of Leuven; he sits on the advisory board of the University of Las Vegas Gaming Law Journal and is a member of the advisory board of the International Research Institute of Gambling and Gaming in Bonn, Germany.
