Olaf joined VMW Taxand in December 2011 after having worked in Hewlett-Packard's transfer pricing and tax team for nearly four years. Before joining Hewlett-Packard, Olaf was employed by the Japanese automotive company Denso and prior to that he spent approximately 3½ years with PWC Amsterdam, where he worked for the tax compliance department and later the transfer pricing team. Whilst studying for his bachelor’s degree Olaf also completed a six-month period of practical training with the Dutch Tax Authorities.

During his employment with Hewlett-Packard Olaf worked on the integration of Electronic Data Systems acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2008. This was a USD 14 billion IT-outsourcing acquisition and involved numerous aspects of transfer pricing, including business restructuring. Other areas in which Olaf was involved include managing the transfer pricing aspects of Hewlett-Packard's IT outsourcing business, liaising with its operational groups and other finance teams, managing audits and obtaining APA's. Olaf was also responsible for implementing and managing a worldwide intercompany financing policy, worked on Hewlett-Packard's intellectual property management and was a member of Hewlett-Packard's mergers and acquisitions tax team.

Olaf holds a degree in fiscal economics from the Amsterdam University.
