Floris studied Dutch Law at the University of Rotterdam and  Civil Notary Law at the University of Amsterdam  He started working as deputy civil law notary in May 1997. He joined Van Mens en Wisselink in May 2002 after working for Böggemann & Weijenborg and Steins Bisschop Meijburg & Co. He was appointed civil law notary by royal decree in 2005 and became partner of VMW Taxand (Van Mens & Wisselink at that time) as of that year. 

Floris has an extensive knowledge of and is specialized in corporate law,which includes: incorporation of private companies with limited liability and public companies; incorporation of foundations, associations and (limited) partnerships; mergers and demergers; capital increase and capital decrease; amendment of articles of association;share transfers and conversion of shares in depository receipts.
