Marc Sanders is based in Taxand Netherlands where he is a partner at VMW Taxand and specialises in international taxation for multinational companies and M&A transactions.
Marc graduated in Tax Law from the University of Amsterdam in 1999 and joined Deloitte & Touche on Aruba (Dutch Caribbean). In 2000 he joined the International Tax department of Arthur Andersen (currently part of Deloitte) in Amsterdam. He worked in the Technology, Media & Telecom team with a focus on international corporate income tax planning and compliance.
Marc worked at the Dutch Desk of Deloitte in New York from 2006 until 2008 where he assisted US clients with questions regarding their operations in Europe.
Previous projects include a tax efficient (hybrid) finance structure for a US listed company, setting up holding / finance and IP structures for investments in Europe, Russia and Asia, restructuring of the legal / tax structure of a television broadcasting company, setting up the European headquarters and sales function of an US software company and assisting clients in discussions with the Dutch tax authorities on financing structures.
During 2002 and 2003 Marc was seconded to a major European cable company, where he was responsible for the tax management function of the content division. Marc has extensive experience with structuring and maintaining private equity structures.
Marc has recently spoken at a seminar for the Dutch Bar Association, a seminar organised by the Moscow Times, the International Tax Conference of the American Bar Association, a roundtable session of the European American Tax Institute, the Law Faculty of Moscow State University and at a seminar of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce. Marc is also frequently quoted in the International Tax Review magazine on tax news.
