Rutger received his Masters degree in Tax Law from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Rutger served as counsel to the Dutch Parliament, advising on tax legislation and tax policy. He advises large and medium sized companies on tax structuring, litigation & strategy. As tax decisions often involve uncertainty, Rutger has developed an innovative decision analysis methodology that helps to evaluate the likelihood of the expected financial outcomes of a tax decision. 

Rutger frequently lectures at various universities in and outside the Netherlands on tax decision-making and regularly publishes on the subject.
