Wietje read law and completed her degree in Dutch Civil Law at Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Wietje graduated in 1990 after which she conducted her first practice within two practice groups (employment law and corporate law) in The Hague. From 2000 onwards she focussed mainly on employment law. Wietje joined Van Mens & Wisselink in 2004.

Wietje advises national and international companies and litigates on Dutch employment and labour law issues, in particular, employment agreements, employment manuals, (collective) termination(s) of employment, (international) postings, employee consultation procedures, (collective bargaining) agreements, confidentiality and non-compete covenants, transfer of undertaking (tupe), employee benefit schemes, stock (option) schemes, commission contracts; directors, management and agency agreements, pension schemes, privacy and data protection, equal treatment, etc. 

Wietje has extensive experience in corporate law matters. She regularly speaks, writes and lectures on employment and labour law subjects.

Wietje is a Member of the American Bar Association and of the Dutch Association for Labour Law and was Vice-President and President of the Labour Law Commission of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) from 2002 to 2005.
